The Certified Court Interpreter (Spanish/English) provides consecutive and simultaneous interpretation and sight translation services for the Court at all proceedings from arraignments, through motions, trials, and sentencings; translates written documents to and from the Court that may be introduced into evidence, or transmitted to other parties; and provides video, telephonic and over the counter assistance to Non-English speakers. When not interpreting, the incumbent may be asked to perform other duties; however, any additional assignments will not detract from the interpreter’s ability to concentrate fully on interpretation tasks and responsibilities. The court interpreter will report to the Chief Deputy through the Interpreter Administrator.
Federal Court Interpreter Certification from the Administrative Office of the United States Courts is a mandatory qualification requirement for the position of Certified Court Interpreter (Spanish/English).
Salary range is $70,191-$91,234 at lowest level to $118,202-$153,659 at highest, depending on qualifications.
