17th Annual IMIA Conference

Our event theme this year is: “Interpreters, Providers, and Regulators: A Partnership for Patient Safety.” The conference will showcase aspects of the heath-care system which affect the LEP patient, and the medical interpreter’s role as one of these components with the overall goal of ensuring patient safety.

Hundreds of individuals from around the world will join us again this year as we educate, motivate and advocate for the medical interpreting profession.  Our keynote speaker this year, Dr. David W. Baker is the Executive Vice President for Health Care Quality Evaluation at the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals (JCAHO).  From our Interpreter Training Boot-Camps and CEU workshops, to opportunities for networking with friends and international colleagues, we invite you to take part in the experience as well.  Onsite will be various vendors and interpreting companies and organizations, so make sure to bring plenty of business cards!
