At our May 2025 membership meeting, US District Court Supervisory Court Interpreter Melinda González-Hibner presented on frequently used terms that have undergone changes in recent memory, or that may be interpreted correctly in more than one way. Terms reviewed include “domestic violence,” “discovery,” “probation,” “plea agreement,” and “seizure.” If you think you can rest on your laurels once you are certified, having learned all the terms that are frequently used in court, think again!
